Spearit Software Announces the Release of Move Me v2.1

Toms River, NJ – Spearit Software, Inc. announced the release of Move Me v2.1, its pay-per-use migration utility for Microsoft Windows®, with improved parallel port support for Windows NT, 2000, and XP.

Move Me copies all of your programs and data files from your old computer (including the Windows Registry settings needed to make those programs work properly on the new system) while leaving your new computer's pre-installed software intact.

Prior to the release of Move Me version 2.1, the parallel port method of data transfer was not available if either computer was running Windows NT. In addition, parallel port transfers under Windows 2000 or XP required the installation of Microsoft's Direct Cable Connection software (DCC) on each computer.

With the release of Move Me v2.1, these limitations no longer exist. You can connect your computers using a parallel transfer cable and perform a migration under Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, or XP without installing any additional software.

With Move Me, data can also be transferred over a network (LAN), via removable media, or using a third computer as a file server. With the file server method, you can even perform a migration over the Internet.
